The One World Trade Center Tower is one of this nation’s most iconic structures, both as an architectural marvel, but also for its significance and relationship to the events of 9-11.

AME was tapped to help solve some of the project’s more complicated technical challenges working having been tapped by The Hettema Group, the firm selected to design and produce the experiences associated with visitor’s center at the new One World Trade Center Tower.

The “See Forever Theatre” involves an extremely complex, multifaceted skyline video set piece, over 80′ wide and 12′ tall, which moves into and out of the guest’s view. A projection design involving over 28 projectors maps content across this multifaceted surface. When the project team was struggling to find a solution to “move” full motion video over this very complex projection environment, AME arrived at a custom solution to “slide” the mapped projection’s UV template in concert with the giant moving set pieces. It was a cool solution and… it worked!

AME was called in to help liaise and coordinate the efforts between creative producer, content creative, technical and media to insure the systems all functioned as expected. Fulfilling our role as project technology “fixers”, AME provided the master UV-mapping for the project’s complex geometry, produced the master template and model for content creation, and provided over-all technical coordination and supervision.

Ultimately, AME touched every element in the project that contained video, mapping, projection, storage and playout, including the “SkyPod” elevator experience, the SkyPortal and others, helping the team to a successful and award-winning conclusion.
